Spare shooting is very important and I will make an blog post about spare shooting but practice spare shooting because one day hitting that ten pin to win the game and you have not practice that shoot well you will probably miss that pin.
Another thing you can do is try to increase your bowling speed on the bowl and learn to focus on your target and try hitting your target every time you bowl.With speed you can control how fast and how slow you throw the ball. Which is a big part of bowling.When the lanes are dry you may need to increase ball speed and if the lanes are wet or oily you may to decrease your bowling speed. Bowling is a hard sport to master but doing this things will help you get better over time.
