League bowling is fun and a lot of people wants to bowl in leagues but if you don’t know anyone that bowls, then joining a bowling league can be hard. Maybe you moved to somewhere new and don’t know anyone and you want to bowl in a league, what should you do? Well in this post lets talk about how do you get invited to be on a bowling league team.
Go to the league meeting the week before the league starts:
For the most bowling leagues, they will have a league meeting where you go and they go over the rules and set up teams. You can go there and ask the president of that league if anyone needs a bowler. Sometimes they may need someone to fill in and sometimes they don’t need anyone. You just got to try to see what’s going on.
What you can do is give your number and name and they can add you to a list where if anyone drops out of the league or a team needs a sub then they can call you. So the first thing to do is to go to the league meeting the week before the league starts and to find that info, go a the bling alley and look for the list of leagues that is starting up and on that list, it will list the time and day for the meeting.
If you can’t find the list of leagues then ask the bowling alley first desk and they will have them. Remember that the winter season of bowling leagues starts around august and ends in the spring and the summer leagues starts in April or May but every league starts at different times so I would just talk the front desk at the bowling alley to see when bowling leagues starts. Sometimes the front desk may have a list that you can fill out with your info and that list is used for bowling leagues if they need more bowlers.
Be a sub for a bowling league team:
Some nights, teams needs a sub because of one of their teammates can’t make it bowling some nights so teams will be looking for subs to fill in. This is a great time for you to fill in and get involved with other people and teams.
Once people start to see you more often then then may invite you to bowl with them. Bowling teams change bowlers more often and sometimes people can’t bowl the next season so they need someone to fill in. Subbing for teams is a great way for other bowlers to see you and know and they may need to you to fill in for them.
Subbing is also a great way to know other bowlers at the bowling alley. The main thing to do here is to get involved at the bowling alley and go to meeting and try to sub for teams that need it. you can’t get invited by staying at home. So go get involved and ask questions and please be sure to have money to pay fees for bowling. You must a sanction to bowl in leagues and every league is different so I would juts talk to the front desk at the bowling alley.
