When bowlers blow in their thumb hole is because they need a little bit moisture which helps make the hole more tacky. Some bowlers feel that it gives them a better feel in the thumb hole when they blow into the thumb hole. I do this when my thumb starts to stick in the ball and I can’t get out so I blow into the thumb hole to help that out.
